From June 15–19, PLANTOMYC was proudly represented at Metabolic Engineering 16 (ME16) in Copenhagen, Denmark — a premier scientific conference organised by the International Metabolic Engineering Society (IMES), renowned for gathering leading experts working at the forefront of metabolic and synthetic biology.
Our project coordinator, Vaskar Mukherjee from RISE Research Institutes of Sweden – Bioeconomy, attended the event and contributed actively to the discussions. During his participation, he presented new infrastructure developments for biochemical manufacturing at the RISE Bioeconomy Arena and introduced the PLANTOMYC project, capturing significant interest among researchers and industry professionals.
ME16 offered an inspiring environment to connect with scientists, innovators, and thought leaders dedicated to designing novel biological systems and sustainable biotechnological solutions. For PLANTOMYC, it was an excellent opportunity to highlight our innovative approach in developing hybrid proteins that merge plant-based ingredients with mycelial protein biomass (MPB), a promising route toward sustainable and functional food products.
We’re excited to see PLANTOMYC gaining visibility in such prestigious scientific forums and contributing to shaping the future of bio-based innovation.
