PLANTOMYC explores the future of hybrid proteins at Bridge2Food in The Hague

PLANTOMYC recently participated in Bridge2Food, held in The Hague, the Netherlands — a leading industry event renowned for bringing together innovators, researchers, and companies working on the next generation of alternative proteins.

Bridge2Food serves as a dynamic platform where experts from across the food value chain discuss emerging trends, technological breakthroughs, and the future of sustainable protein solutions. The event highlighted just how rapidly the alternative protein sector is evolving, and how crucial collaboration is in transforming ideas into real-world impact.

Through the PLANTOMYC project, we are pioneering new approaches that combine plant-based proteins with mycelial biomass (MPB), aiming to deliver hybrid products that excel in taste, functionality, and sustainability.

We were delighted to be joined by our consortium partners, who contributed actively to the discussions and shared research progress:

RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, represented by Abhishek Bhattacharya and Joshua Mayers, presented some of the promising results emerging from our collaborative work within PLANTOMYC.
The University of Reading, represented by Dr. Dimitris Balagiannis.

Participating in Bridge2Food was an inspiring experience and a valuable opportunity to connect with industry leaders, exchange knowledge, and explore new partnerships.
